This platform is a student developer simulation project and is not an official government website. This policy reflects the intended data handling practices of the iOPS platform as designed.
Section 01

Overview

The Integrated Crisis Operations Platform (iOPS), operated by the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) of Basilan, is committed to protecting the privacy and security of all individuals who interact with this platform.

This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the measures we take to keep it safe. By accessing or using iOPS, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

Information We Collect

We may collect the following categories of information:

Incident Reports
  • Name, contact number, and address of the reporting individual (optional but helpful)
  • Location of the incident (barangay, municipality, coordinates)
  • Nature and description of the emergency or incident
  • Date and time of the report submission
Responder Accounts
  • Full name, designation, and assigned unit
  • Login credentials (passwords are hashed and never stored in plaintext)
  • Activity logs and dispatch records tied to your account
Automatic Technical Data
  • Browser type and operating system
  • IP address and approximate location
  • Pages visited, timestamps, and session duration

How We Use Information

Information collected through iOPS is used solely for disaster risk reduction and emergency response operations, including:

  • Processing and routing incident reports to the appropriate response teams
  • Coordinating dispatch of field responders and equipment
  • Generating operational reports for PDRRMO command and provincial government
  • Improving platform functionality and emergency response protocols
  • Maintaining audit trails for accountability and post-incident review

We do not use your personal information for marketing, advertising, or any purpose unrelated to disaster risk management and emergency operations.

Section 04

Sharing of Information

We do not sell, trade, or transfer your personal information to outside parties, except in the following circumstances:

  • Government Agencies: Incident data may be shared with other government units (BFP, PNP, NDRRMC, LGU offices) as required for coordinated emergency response.
  • Legal Compliance: We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or lawful authority.
  • Platform Operations: Technical service providers assisting with hosting and maintenance are bound by confidentiality obligations.

Data Retention

Incident records and operational logs are retained in accordance with applicable Philippine government records management policies and NDRRMC guidelines.

Responder account data is retained for the duration of active service and for a period thereafter as required for audit and accountability purposes. Requests for data deletion may be submitted to our office and will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

Section 06

Data Security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. These measures include:

  • Password hashing using industry-standard algorithms
  • Role-based access controls limiting data visibility to authorized personnel
  • Session management and automatic timeout for authenticated users
  • Regular review of access logs and system activity

While we strive to protect your information, no transmission over the internet is completely secure. We encourage users to protect their login credentials and report any suspicious activity immediately.

Your Rights

Under the Philippine Data Privacy Act of 2012 (Republic Act No. 10173), you have the following rights with respect to your personal data:

  • Right to be informed — know how your data is collected and used
  • Right to access — request a copy of your personal data we hold
  • Right to correction — have inaccurate data corrected
  • Right to erasure — request deletion under applicable circumstances
  • Right to object — object to data processing in certain situations
  • Right to data portability — receive your data in a usable format

Section 08

Cookies

iOPS uses session cookies strictly necessary for platform functionality — such as maintaining your authenticated session. We do not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or third-party analytics cookies.

You may configure your browser to block or delete cookies; however, doing so may affect your ability to use authenticated features of the platform.

Third-Party Links

This platform may contain links to external websites such as the Official Government of the Philippines portal (gov.ph), NDRRMC, or other government agencies. These external sites have their own privacy policies, and we are not responsible for their content or data practices.

Policy Changes

We reserve the right to update this Privacy Policy at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the platform after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.

For significant changes, we will notify registered responders through in-platform announcements or email where applicable.
